Inform the authorities if there is a link with an adenovirus

Faced with a case of childhood hepatitis in a patient under the age of 18, doctors will have to carry out several checks before submitting a report. After analyzing the symptoms and the possible causes of the disease via a check-up, if there is a link with an adenovirus, then the authorities must be informed.

It is this pathogen that is suspected of causing the disease. If the doctor cannot identify the cause of the hepatitis, then this is also a possible case that must be reported to the authorities. The blood samples taken must be kept cool before being sent for further analysis. To date, two French cases have been detected.
