Xbox to charge 699 a month for Subscription Pass over 100 games like Netflix


Microsoft has announced a Rs 699 per month subscription service for its video game console, the Xbox One which will allow gamers access to a library of over 100 games.

The service, “Xbox Game Pass”, will allow subscribers to download Xbox One and ‘backward companionable Xbox 360 games directly to their devices and play them both online and offline, Phil Spencer, Xbox head said in the post blog.

The service will only be available on the Xbox One console and devices running Windows 10 operating systems.

The service which will commence later this spring will include games like Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, NBA 2K16 and Soulcalibur II

“Xbox Game Pass” subscribers will also be able to buy games in the register at a discountMicrosoft’s main competitor in the console space Sony offers a subscription service for the Playstation 4 called playstation now. Playstaion Now, costs users $19.99 a month but is limited to small number of countries and requires a continual online connection as the games are streamed over the cloud. Playstaion Now is currently unavailable to Indian users.

In an attempt to distinguish the service from that of Sony’s Spencer said, ” one fo the best things about Xbox Game Pass is tha you can discover and download the full titles directly on your Xbox One. That means continuous, full dependability game play without having to worry about streaming, bandwidth or connectivity issues.
