Kalki Subramaniam to Inaugurate India’s First Transgender School in Kochi. The Sahaj International School to Operate Under the National Open School System.
Transgender and Activist and artist Kalki Subramaniam will Inaugurate India’s First Residential Transgender School in Kochi on Friday December 30 2016.
The School is Considered as an Alternate Learning Center for School Dropout Transgenders and the School will have boarding facility and it will Provide some Opportunities for Soft skill Training and the organic Farming.
Maya Mohan and Vijayaraja Mallika and the two Office Bearers of TransGender India Foundation was attended the Event.
The District Collector Muhammad Y.Safeerulla, P.T.Thomas MLA also attended the Event ans the Inauguration and the school will Function near NGO Quarters in Kakkanad.
Transgender People can face Judgement and hospitality in India and around half of them fail to complete their schooling as a Result.
Sahaj International is the First School of its Kind in India
And it will Welcome 10 Pupils and aged 25-50.
The Students will be Prepared for India’s Class 10 and 12 Board Exams normally sat when the Students are aged 16-16 or 17-18 respectively and it will also include some Vocational Skills for the Students.

The School is in Kerala which is the First Indian State to Adopt a transgender Policy and against discrimination and it promotes inclusive education and free gender surgery at Government hospitals.
The Teachers are also belong to the transgender community and a measure designed to protect and encourage the Pupils.
This Decision comes after India’s First Transgender College Principal , Manabi Bandopadhyay that resigned from her post Claiming that some of that
her students and fellow teacher had against because of her Sexual Identity.
