Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is all set to introduce the new currency 10 Rupee and 1000 notes. The new notes will be bearing the publishing year of 2017 only.
On February 27, specified Bank Notes (Cessation of Liabilities) Bill 2017 received the assent of the President.
Below are all the details that we gathered from the report.
New ‘L’ letter will be on 10 rupee note
The RBI said today, “the banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi series-2005 are to carry inset letter ‘L’ on both number panels, bearing the signature of Governor Urjit Patel.”
Ascending numerical number will be on 10 rupee
The numerical series of the currency note will be in ascending order from left to right, the one we are seeing in the latest Rs 1000 note.

The first three alpha-numeric characters on the currency note will remain in the current size.
The introduction of new currency notes will not replace the currently available notes and all the current currency of Rs 10 will be accepted and will not get avoid.
There will be no official words for the 20 currency note.All the banknotes in the denomination of Rs 10 issued by the bank in the past will continue to be legal tender, “the central bank said in a statement.
The most secured note will be the old 1000 note according to my viewThough there are no words from RBI about the new security features but according to the reports. The RBI is looking to make the currency note more secure.
Rumors on Rs 1000 currency noteTalking about the Rs 10 currency change, the new edition will carry 2017 as the publishing year. There are no official words about the change in color, but it is expected that the color change can be implemented from the end of RBI.
There were some rumors that the Rs 1000 note will also get a new ‘Avatar’ after the changes we have seen in Rs 500 and Rs 2000 notes. But let me tell you that these rumors were fake and no such planning is going on from RBI’s end.
